Ever since I can remember I have loved taking photos and posting them online. I would take pictures of everything and anything and share them with the world. It was part of who I am and my photos mean the world to me. As I grew older, I started to fall in love with creating videos on Youtube, Tik Tok, and Instagram. It was a place where I could express myself and an outlet that I needed dearly during my high school years. I picked my major about half-way through my college experience. I couldn’t decide what I wanted to do for the rest of my life and came back to my love for photography, content creating, and video making to decide on a communications degree. Most of my educational and professional experiences have to do with creativity. I loved being able to create and design new social media plans for businesses in my classes that I took. I was able to unlock a new love for creativity and starting social media campaigns from scratch. It fulfilled a part of my younger self that I didn’t realize was missing. 

          A group that I looked up to while completing my educational journey was Edgely. They are a social media marketing company that creates content for local businesses in the Central Florida area. I love their content and they do bring in a lot of business for the businesses in the area. One of their most famous businesses they have helped is Haute Hair. It is a hair salon in Tampa, Florida and Edgely took the Haute Hair account from 1,000 followers to over 100k. It is amazing how fast they were able to help grow the Haute Hair account. When creating content for my future job, I hope to be as good as Edgely and be able to bring people in for the future business that I might work for. 

          As viewers begin to explore my ePortfolio, I hope they recognize how I am fulfilling a life-long goal with all of the projects presented. I want the viewers to see how I will make a social media plan for their business that is fun, creative, and is diverse enough for everyone in their target audience to relate too. It is very important to me that no one feels left out or not represented. My ePortfolio is the story of my educational and professional journey, which I hope people will walk away seeing all the hard work it took to get here. One obstacle I faced was putting all of my prior knowledge of social media and marketing and combining it with the new information I was gaining from classes. When I combined both the prior knowledge and the new information, I feel like it made my projects better and more relatable with people. 

          Lastly, before reading my ePortfolio I think it is important to know some background information. I am a 22 year old, who lives in Orlando, Florida, but was born and raised in California. I moved to Orlando in 2021 to start my college education and have been living in Florida ever since. I received my first camera in 6th grade and have been taking photos ever since. I hope you all enjoy my ePortfolio and allow it to tell you the story of my education and professional career in Communications.
